Quick Subtasks for monday.com
Create a whole set of subtasks in one click — from reusable templates with any columns pre-filled.
Bulk subtasks from templates
Quick Subtasks lets you build reusable subtask templates and drop an entire set of subitems onto any item in a single click. Templates are stored per-board, so each board keeps its own library. Every template supports pre-filling any subitem column, so the subtasks arrive ready to work rather than blank.
Five steps
- Open any item and go to the Quick Subtasks tab.
- Create a template: name it and add the subitems you need.
- For each subitem, set values for any subitem column — status, person, date, text and more.
- Save the template — it's stored on the board, and each board keeps its own.
- Select a template and click Create: all subitems are added to your item in one go, columns pre-filled.
Status, people, date, text
Quick Subtasks pre-fills the most common subitem column types: status, people, date, and text. A column has to exist on the subitem board to be set — if the one you need isn't there, add it to the subitems first and it will appear in the template editor.
Everything stays in monday.com
The app runs entirely inside monday.com. Templates are saved in the board's own monday storage. No data leaves the platform — there are no external servers and no tracking. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Free for small teams
Free for teams up to 10 seats. Paid plans are available for larger teams — see the monday.com marketplace listing for current pricing.
Common issues
“Subtasks can't be nested.” Open a regular item rather than a subtask — subitems can only be added to top-level items.
A column isn't showing in the editor. Add it to the subitem board first; only columns that exist on the subitems can be pre-filled.
Creation failed / validation error. Check that the column types in your template are supported (status, people, date, text).
